I saw these pretty crochet hooks on Amazon, and had to have them. Ergonomic? Yes please! Pretty? Give me now! So I added them to my wish list and was lucky to receive them.

The video below shows my initial reaction, but read more below.

Here’s what I think of the Quilted Bear Soft Touch Floral Crochet Hook Set.
The pros:
- £12.99 is a really good price for a set of 12 ergonomics hooks.
- They are really pretty!
- Both the hook and polymer feel like good quality.
- The clay is smooth and comfortable to hold.
- The handles make it much easier to spot a misplaced hook.
That’s a really strong start! There are two points that detract a bit from the experience of using these hooks. So, here are the cons:
- The polymer starts far down the hook, so that you can see the size on the flat bit in the middle of the hook. While this makes the size legible, the grip is so far down the hook that for some of us, the grip isn’t easily usable. That said, I’ve seen others who dislike the much coveted Clover hooks for the opposite reason (the grip comes up further, landing less space between the hook and the grip).
- The polymer is thin, so the grip is still rather small on the smaller hooks, making it not seem very ergonomic.
So, are they worth it? For this price, they are definitely worth a shot. I regularly reach for them over plain hooks (but after my Clovers) and I’ve found that I adjust my hold on the hook without noticing in order to take advantage of the grip. Whether you will love these will depend on where you normally hold your hook (it’s worth paying attention to how you hold another hook first) and whether you just want a hook that is pretty and stands out or truly need something more ergonomic.
